Geotechnical Methods

The CALM Initiative leaders and its members have been on the forefront of developing innovative geotechnical and dewatering methods for stabilizing ash basin prior to and during the closure process.  Case studies and technical papers developed by the CALM team include assessment of settlement of ponded ash, recommendation for ash containment facility construction and development of innovative methods for sample and in-situ testing of ash materials.
