Project Description

Provided computer analysis of liquid levels and dredged solids volume using a variety of USACE techniques and specialty consolidation theory.  Engineering activities included evaluation of dike stability with inclinometers and development of research information for predicting the long settling, consolidation, and volume of the fine-particle dredged solids.  Mr. Hardin developed the solids management, dewatering, and crust management plans that guided drying and placement of dredged material in a 1,100-acre facility.  The solids management program allowed development of the facility into a wildlife restoration area.
