CALM Initiative General Meeting

This meeting is open to all Utility Members, Industry Partner and Associate members of the CALM Initiative.   An agenda will be sent out to all members by the first week in February 2018. All meetings will take place at the PORTAL Building on UNC Charlotte’s campus. Ash Basin Safety Awareness Course – 20-Hour Supervisor Training

Training for project superintendents and safety professionals who are actively working on ash basin closures and industrial waste management projects. Space is limited to 15 attendees. Early registration is encouraged. Ash Basin Safety Awareness (ABSA) — 8-Hour Worker Safety Course, Southern Sites

The CALM Initiative Team will be traveling to ash basin sites and contractor's offices in Alabama and Georgia to provide site specific, ABSA training for workers. CALM Initiative Members receive 2 complimentary slots for the 8-Hour Worker Safety course per year. The CALM Initiative Team will be traveling to Richmond, Virginia as an exhibitor for pore water pressure and stability monitoring equipment for the ACAA 2018 Workshop on Current Issues in Ponded Ash.

Task Force Meeting – Mid South Location, TBD

The CALM Initiative is planning to organize a Task Force Meeting for all three of the CALM Initiative Task Forces (ie: Dust Emissions & Site Management, Encapsulation & Paste, Ash Basin Stability) on May 16 & 17.
